Welcome to 2025! I have news about patch 4.0. Let’s dive in.
Swamp:The swamps (not the camp) have been changed to a Gothic 1 style. They are wide and open. No more mountains, plus there is open access to the sea, similar to vanilla.
The quest in Chapter 2 with Nyras has been changed and is now more like vanilla. Y'Berion’s original dialogue now fits the story about the forest and coast; it’s no longer about the swamps.
After making changes to the story, I also adjusted the types of enemies in the swamp. For example, you will now encounter alligators more often than lizards. This should help convey how dangerous the swamps are.
Swamp Camp:There are small but significant changes. Kalom’s hut is now next to the temple, just like in the original, and the hints from novices (about where to find Kalom) now match the camp. Harlok and Fortuno have also been moved to Kalom’s new location.
The groups of swamp herb gatherers have been moved closer to the camp.
Herbs in the World (Final):The number of herbs in the game has been reduced by approximately 1,200, based on feedback about there being too many items to collect. Recipe requirements have also been adjusted.
