Gothic 1: Othello Mod - Update 4.2

Patch 4.2 – List of Changes

WARNING: It is recommended to start a new game!


Spells: Healing (rework):

  • Skill scaling increased from 0% → 25%,

  • Health restored per second changed from 2% max HP → 30 HP,

  • Duration shortened to a maximum of 4 seconds,

  • Mana cost changed from 1 mana per second → 30 mana total,

  • Healing effect increased by +1% for every 1% missing HP.

Golem Awakening:

  • Added stat descriptions for fire, ice, and stone golem runes.

Stamina:

  • Passive regeneration increased from 1 point/sec → 2 points/sec,

  • Bonus to stamina gained now also affects passive stamina regeneration.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed item description: Frog Root,

  • Smelting copper ingots no longer consumes amber ore when choosing 1× or 5×,

  • Giving healing potions to companions now properly restores their HP,

  • Stone – fixed weapon check conditions for Uriziel rework,

  • Fixed weapon forging bugs and updated blueprint descriptions,

  • Improved collision detection for barrier points – no more gap in the swamp barrier,

  • Magic/arrows/bolts no longer stop on corpses,

  • Added option to interrupt Ghorim’s work if you haven’t received a quest from him yet,

  • Quest "Woodcutting" – Crack: cutting a dead tree no longer interrupts monologue after each “Cut wood” option,

  • Quest "Woodcutting" – Crack: cutting a dead tree now properly checks the player’s strength requirement,

  • Fletcher in chapter 4 now stays at the gate after talking to the player,

  • Fletcher in chapter 4 now attacks the player after the conversation.

Alchemy:

  • Fixed potion recipes (mana and healing) – now display correct restored resource value: 40% instead of 35%,

  • Dexter’s reward: brewing Concentration Potions now correctly requires 4 demonic mushrooms instead of 8.

Kalom’s Dungeon:

  • Removed duplicate chest with the Dragon Bane blueprint.

Quests:

  • Player can now ask Crack about hunting even if the time is not right,

  • It is now possible to inform Renwik about quest completion,

  • Renwik now gives hints about the mine,

  • Diego no longer deals damage to the troll in the focusing stone quest.

Food:

  • Roasted beetle – health restored reduced from 20 HP → 15 HP,

  • Forest fruit jam – removed blackberry ingredient,

  • Blackberries removed from the game (didn’t stand the test of time – deemed unnecessary).

Trophies:

  • Snapper tail – price increased from 4 → 8 ore chunks.

Monster Damage:

  • Base damage increased from 35 → 40,

  • Damage growth changed from irregular threshold increases (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) → 2–3 damage per level.

Weapons:


Vitality weapons:

Reaper:

  • Removed bonus: 10% melee crit chance,

  • Increased HP restored per kill from +15 → +20,

  • (New) Restores % of max HP on level up by +100%,

  • Added a new vitality weapon for later stages of the game.

Ranged weapons:

Longbow:

  • Damage increased from 25 → 30,

  • Range increased from 55% → 60%.

Light crossbow:

  • Damage increased from 25 → 30,

  • Range increased from 50% → 60%.

Shortbow:

  • Damage increased from 15 → 20.

Jewelry Crafting:

  • Jewelry – Amulets Vol. II – price reduced from 200 → 160 ore chunks,

  • Jewelry – Rings Vol. II – price reduced from 160 → 140 ore chunks,

  • Tier 2 amulets (crystal, ebonite, jade, onyx) – prices reduced for +0 / +1 / +2 / +3 / +4:from 160 / 400 / 720 / 1120 / 1600 → 120 / 240 / 480 / 720 / 1200,

  • Tier 1 amulets (copper, silver, amber, gold) – prices reduced for +0 / +1 / +2 / +3 / +4:from 80 / 200 / 360 / 560 / 800 → 50 / 100 / 200 / 300 / 500,

  • Tier 2 rings (crystal, ebonite, jade, onyx) – prices reduced for +0 / +1 / +2 / +3 / +4:from 100 / 250 / 450 / 700 / 1000 → 80 / 160 / 320 / 480 / 800,

  • Tier 1 rings (copper, silver, amber, gold) – prices reduced for +0 / +1 / +2 / +3 / +4:from 50 / 125 / 225 / 350 / 500 → 40 / 80 / 160 / 240 / 400.

World:

  • Changed exchange square.

4.2 – Additional Changes

World:

  • Restored tunnel system under the Tower of Mists and refreshed its appearance,

  • Updated contents of several chests,

  • Cobra Ring reworked: magical fist damage can now critically hit based on your dexterity.

Trophies:

  • Training cost changed from 250 / 500 / 750 → 150 / 450 / 900 ore chunks.

Crossbow Mastery:

  • Required attribute for learning changed from Dexterity → Strength.

Weapons:

New two-handed axe for Strength:

  • Added to the Tower of Mists.
