Greetings to all nostalgics. NostaTeam is back in touch.
Instead of a long post in news-line, we’ll keep it short. Here’s an example of how we try to play with previously undisclosed details of Gothic lore through books, paintings, and music – and in doing so, expand the lore itself.
Before you is an in-game painting titled "Rhobar the Second kills the Rebel King." The painting tells the story of a historical event that led to the creation of a famous collectible relic – the Blood Chalices. These are the very chalices used by six rulers of the rebel cities to celebrate the signing of an alliance: during the war with Varant, an entire province broke away from Myrtana to form a rebellious kingdom. The chalices became "bloody" after Rhobar the Second conquered each of the rebellious cities one by one and executed their rulers – including the leader of the alliance, who lies in the painting in a puddle, decapitated and dishonored.
I recently added this mod to the website and created a dedicated page for it. So if you’re curious and want to know more, head over to the “mods in development” section through the main menu – this mod is listed at the very bottom.
