Gothic 2: Bumshak
Modification Type – New Story
Informations
Bumshak is a modification that offers a new perspective on the war between humans and orcs. The story takes place after the Nameless One sails to the island of Irdorath. It follows the fate of a young orc, Bumshak, who begins his service in the army. At the start, he begins as an ordinary orc soldier, gradually playing a key role in the attack on the castle.
Characteristics – Trivia
- Bumshak is the only modification in which you play as an orc.
- In the mod, one of the orcs, Durkash, says that Hosh-Paka was killed by a man with a flaming sword (who was the Nameless One with Beliar’s Decay). However, the god of darkness’s sword does not actually burn, it only smokes; a flaming version can only be triggered using codes.
- Completing quests does not grant Bumshak any experience points, and it is not possible to change his stats (e.g., through training).
- Instead of experience points, Bumshak receives healing potions and occasionally the chance to advance in the hierarchy of the horde.
- The game developers did not anticipate playing as an orc, so scripts block the ability to consume food and plants (which is balanced by a constant supply of potions).
- Bumshak was created as the first modification for Gothic II: Night of the Raven.
- The Russian version contains the original voice acting, while the English version features AI-generated voice acting using orc voices from Gothic, Gothic 2, and Gothic 3.
