Gothic 2: New Balance - Update 22.9.2025, 25.9.2025 a 4.10.2025

Hi, I’m bringing you three updates at once from the recent period. Usually, I do updates and the Czech translation on the first day the Russian original comes out, but I wasn’t feeling mentally well and didn’t feel like doing anything, so sorry about that.
Update – September 22, 2025
- Fixed text errors in the description of some rings
- At Constantius, the Elixir of Life, which restores 20 health (for apprentices), can now be sold for money
- The Ring of the Red Barons has been strengthened
- Information about special types of arrows has been moved to the Demon Hunter’s book
- Improved resource manager in the engine. Some resources (sounds) now unload when needed
- Fixed bug: Dark Servant no longer attacks ghost orcs
- Slightly reduced health and defense in lizard form for druids
- Reduced the size of the ocean wave sound file by 10 MB
- Fixed 2 memory leaks in the engine
- Minor dialogue improvements
- Periodic damage from summons no longer kills the target, which could cause many errors
- Fixed bug with mage teleports when playing as a druid
- Improved compatibility with the "New Quests for NB" mod, fixed one of the causes of crashes
- Changed the teleport point to the Brotherhood camp; on the old point, summons could get stuck and crash the game
- The mod version in the game menu is now displayed on a dark background
Update – September 25, 2025
- Fixed a serious bug where leaving any animal transformation could crash the game at any moment (in dialogue, while loading a save, during combat). This error occurred especially on higher difficulties and with the Wrath of Beliar and Trial Path plugins
- Fixed a critical bug where you could save the game (through the menu) while the hero was unconscious (unknown when this bug appeared). This could corrupt the save
- Fixed several potential issues that could sometimes cause crashes
- Added (or fixed) additional melee damage to starting staves (Combat Staff, Pilgrim’s Staff, Judge’s Staff, Water Ring Combat Staff, Apprentice’s Staff, Adept’s Staff)
- Slightly reduced the mana cost to maintain Gallahad’s wolves
- Reduced damage from poison traps on chests (now corresponds to the new poisoning system)
- Fixed Nrozass’s poison quest chain; no chosen option with the troll will interrupt the quest chain (including killing the troll or being unable to add the poison)
- Now there are only 2 options: either the hero successfully tested the poison, returned to Nrozass, and then gave the poison to Osair, or immediately after failing the poison, Nrozass is set up in front of Osair (if you are currently doing the "Triumph of Nrozass" quest, complete the quest in the old version first before applying the new scripts, otherwise it will be unplayable!)
- Fixed a rare bug where the duel with Nrozass did not register and the storyline would freeze
- Improved text in some quests in Masiaf. Added new entries. For the final report to Haniar, it is no longer necessary to wait and approach him at a specific time
- Fixed dialogue with Sergio, now he can lead the hero (fire mage) to the passage to the Mining Valley (in Chapter 1)
Update – October 4, 2025
- Special arrows and bolts can now be crafted from regular arrows/bolts, not just from shafts and tips
- Minor text fixes in the game
- Fixed bug with Snaf and the dice game
- Starting crossbows for Demon Hunters now require slightly fewer attributes
- The "Crossbow Knowledge" skill now gives Demon Hunters slightly more damage
- Fixed bug: the Double Shot skill for the ASnC now learns at 15 crossbow proficiency, as before
- Reduced the weight of the first light armor of the Dark Knight
- Base crossbow damage increased by 10 points
- Fixed additional damage for Apprentice and Listener staves
- Minor bug fixes
