Gothic 2: Odyssey – Update 2.7.4.2 and Previous Updates

Hi! In the news section, I usually only inform about updates that are already available in the Czech version. However, it's not always possible for me to keep up with everything, so from now on, I'll also post information about updates of modifications that are not yet available in Czech—or even in English—in these latest versions, but will be localized later.


AI Czech localization for Odyssey is planned and likely will include voice acting. However, we need to wait for it. Currently, the Czech version runs on 2.7.3.4, which is also the last version I posted about on the website. Once the AI Czech translation is done, it will of course be based on the latest version.


Some localized versions of Odyssey (like Czech or other translations) are not yet using the newest updates, so the listed changes might not be included there yet.

Changes in Version 2.7.4.2

- **Naval Battle 1**: In the first naval battle, the “doppelgangers” of the paladins were apparently not teleported to the waypoint “TOT”. This should now be fixed.

- **Khorinis**: Fixed a bug in Lord Andre’s script where Dandolo was still recognized as alive during the "Outpost in the Forest" quest. The condition `(Npc_IsDead(Dandolo_KHO) == FALSE)` was replaced with `(!Npc_IsDead(Dandolo_KHO))`.

_Note_: This was a purely technical fix to address a reported bug, not a logical issue. The `Npc_IsDead(...) == FALSE` condition was being ignored, while `!Npc_IsDead(...)` seems to be more reliable. A possible cause might be that Dandolo sometimes dies "unnaturally" (e.g., falls into a ravine or is killed by an enemy off-screen), and the game doesn’t register the death correctly. In such cases, the check may return a wrong value. Since the exact reason is unknown, the condition was updated to the safer variant.

- During the reconquest of Khorinis and the battle at Onar’s farm, orcs should now flee once heavily weakened. The `[AIV_KilledByPlayer]` condition was removed as it didn’t always work reliably with magic.

- **Jharkendar**: The Seer could be told that the player had the Claw, even if it wasn’t true. A new condition was added to ensure the player actually possesses it.

- **Jharkendar**: Rhen could be shown the Claw even after giving it to the Seer. Now the Seer’s condition requires that the player speak with Rhen first.

- **Storm World**: The message in the bottle was missing the paper inside—now fixed.

- **Varant**: Informing named former slaves of Ugar's freedom now grants 50 EXP each.

- **Varant**: The dialogue with the goatherd about Ugar’s freedom used to repeat—now fixed.

- **Varant**: After liberation, Ugar’s former slaves are now labeled as “citizens” instead of “workers”.

- **Varant**: In Aschdod, after the arena fights, players can now talk directly to the orc shaman Shak Arosh without needing Wambek to prompt it. This should fix several issues in quest progression.

- **Vengard**: After reporting the destruction of the siege army to Hugo, he would repeat the same line over and over. Now a follow-up dialogue triggers, allowing you to send the rebels back.

- **Vengard**: The transition to Irdorath now occurs in the ship’s lower deck and should no longer cause a crash.

- **Vengard**: The rear path to Gotha is now blocked.

- **Isagrath & Irdorath**: Demon Berserkers had their HP and EXP significantly increased. Slight armor buff as well. Bulmogg’s health was also raised.

- **Ore Valley**: Dialogues during Urshak's negotiations have been tweaked for consistency if you’ve already completed related tasks.

- **Ore Valley**: EXP granted by undead orc skeletons has been adjusted.

- **Irdorath**: Baal Handshar's armor has been slightly increased on Normal and Hard difficulties.

- **Workbench Fix**: Damage for the improved War Bow is now correctly displayed as +30 DMG.

- **Scavenger Scrambled Eggs**: Now requires only 10 eggs to prepare, as the recipe states.

Changes in Version 2.7.4.1

- Fixed the file `IT_Secrets`. The file from our new mod *Dark Age* was mistakenly copied into the game, which caused all entries from Odyssey to disappear.


Changes in Version 2.7.4

- Once you learn armor upgrading from Hawk, the journal will now list required materials for crafting belts.

- Missing script entry for “Silberhacken” at 75% digger knowledge check was added.

- Bug fix for Sven. His dialogue didn’t activate when trying to relearn lockpicking.

- Incorrect mesh assigned to the poisoned Zermalmer was corrected.

- You can now cook 1 portion of scrambled eggs using 30 scavenger eggs and other ingredients if you know the recipe. 3 portions grant the same bonus as 30 eggs. The recipe (and the new item "Oil") can be obtained from multiple traders starting in Chapter 2.

- **Athanos**: Charlotte’s head mesh changed.

- **Athanos**: Mobile phone sound removed.

- **Khorinis**: Added dialogue in Sergio’s escort quest if the city was liberated without paladins (he wouldn’t follow the player before).

- **Khorinis**: Demons in Xardas’ Tower had incorrect assignments, making them stronger than intended—now fixed.

- **Khorinis**: Two orc mercenaries near the barracks tree were too weak—now buffed to match others.

- **Khorinis**: Chest in the Shadowbeast cave containing Xardas’ 6th diary didn’t spawn an undead paladin on “Hard” and “Legendary”—now fixed.

- **Khorinis**: The first bone mage in the monastery catacombs had overly high stats—now corrected.

- **Khorinis**: Undead pirates on Captain Roughbeard’s wreck did very little damage. They’ve now received proper `B_SetFightSkills` values.

- **Khorinis**: Once the “Outpost in the Forest” quest is active and you’ve spoken to Harald, Martin can now join you alongside Dandolo to liberate the monastery and pass.

- **Khorinis**: Rengaru now returns to the refugee camp if the city hasn’t been conquered yet. Otherwise, he goes back to the city.

- **Khorinis**: If Gritta dies during the escape, the hero no longer smiles while telling Baltram everything is fine.

- **Jharkendar**: Some of Greg’s pirates received stat buffs.

- **Jharkendar**: Fixed Rhen’s dialogue. A missing condition allowed the player to report Monty’s death without even meeting him.

- **Varant**: If the Nameless Hero teleported away from the Tadmor pyramid, no enemies would attack anymore. This should now be fixed.

- **Varant**: Former slave Ojo is now a nomad in Said’s camp.

- **Varant**: A condition was added for slaves Clark and Wilbert. Previously, they could be turned in to Haram without having Pike’s info. This condition existed only for Spike.

- **Varant**: After completing the Mirror Shield quest and discussing the undead mage with Almansor, he now receives the shield in his inventory. You can steal it during combat and refine it with obsidian at the workbench.

- **Athanos – Chapter 6**: Removed a trigger condition in Finisterre’s script that prevented quest completion if he was killed by summoned creatures.

- **Myrtana**: Several script corrections in the quest "The Wreck", which sometimes disappeared from the journal.

- **Irdorath**: Fixed position of one obsidian lump that wasn’t properly aligned to the wall.

- **Irdorath**: Journal entries for the dragon egg quest now correctly display.

- **Irdorath**: Removed Ganelun’s journal entry referring to the Claw, since it is now found in Vengard. You can now show the Claw to both Rhen and the Seer as soon as you acquire it—not just after reaching Irdorath.
