Gothic 3: Alternative World - A New Mod from a Czech Modder

⚔️ A Closer Look at Alternative World – A Czech Addition to Union+ Modpack

In the previous news post, we briefly mentioned that the Alternative World mod from the Czech community has been added to the Union+ Modpack. This modification is part of the latest version of the modpack and can be installed directly from there (note: no Czech translation is available for this version yet).

The goal of this post is to give Alternative World a bit more spotlight, showcase some screenshots, and raise awareness—because many players might not even realize this mod was created by the Czech modder Robars.

🌍 What does the mod add?

The main highlight of this mod is the addition of new locations in the world of Gothic 3. These locations naturally expand the game world and provide players with new reasons to explore. The mod also includes a short quest tied to accessing Xardas’s domain.

The new locations include:

• Royal Harbor

• Trelis Port

• Bakaresh Port

• Xardas’s Library

• Adanos Portal

• …and other various additions

🛠️ Technical Notes & Recommendations

“I mainly designed this mod for Union and my own custom edition. It’s not a revolutionary overhaul, but it took me over half a year of work,” says the author.

The mod is fully compatible with the current version of Union, but to see all changes in action, it is recommended to start a new game.

⚠️ Important Warning:

There is a crash issue near Akasha’s Tomb caused by the navigation map. A temporary fix is to simply delete the NavigationMap file.
