Welcome back! The past few weeks haven’t been too generous when it comes to free time. We originally planned to show you a bit more content in May, but things got delayed a bit. Fortunately, we’re now in a position to get back to work. You can expect new posts coming soon. But for now, we want to share two important announcements…
We’ve decided to move our mod to the Gothic 1 engine. This change will solve virtually all technical issues we've been facing since the beginning of Sequel’s development. Why the Gothic 1 engine instead of Gothic 2? Sequel is essentially Gothic 1 on “steroids,” and it aligns more closely with that version of the Zengine. All the extra features added by the developers can be recreated using tools like Union. So there’s no need to worry about the mod losing anything — quite the opposite, we see only advantages in this move. For now, we're still working on the original engine, and we’ll handle the full transition later.
The second piece of news is that we’re planning to expand our team. We aim to open recruitment this fall. More people not only means faster development but also brings fresh perspectives to the project — something we’ve been gradually lacking. We’ll let you know more details once the recruitment process begins. For now, we want to wrap up a few major things with the current team.
