Union – Added Union_WindDX11_Plugin (Wind in Gothic)

Introduction

Recently, wind support was added to the DX11 renderer. However, in most mods, the objects are not properly configured (wind is not enabled for specific models).

This plugin automatically assigns wind properties to vegetation when the world loads (the plugin contains a built-in database of object visuals). The plugin was created by Liker (author of New Balance).


Installation:

– Install the latest version of DX11, for example from here: https://github.com/SaiyansKing/GD3D11/releases

Download the plugin, extract it, and place the file Union_WindDX11_Plugin.vdf into the data/plugins folder

– The plugin can be removed at any time

– In-game, press F11 and enable wind effects via: Wind effect quality → Advanced


Features:

– No need to start a new game

– Does not affect saved games

– Wind properties are not written into save files

– During rain, wind effects are approximately 3× stronger

– In caves, the wind effect is about 3× weaker

– No FPS impact (tested even on low-end GPUs like the GTX 1050 Ti)

– If some plant/tree/grass doesn't move, it’s likely part of static geometry and not a separate object

– Original Gothic 2: Night of the Raven

– Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos

– Legend of Ahssun

– Odyssey

– H'Liver

– DarkSaga

– Any mod that uses standard plant and tree model names


Note:

f you're using the New Balance mod, this plugin is not needed — all vegetation is already properly configured.
