Gothic Remake will most likely be released in March 2026

The latest quarterly report from Embracer Group, the parent company of THQ Nordic, makes it possible to narrow down the release window of Gothic 1 Remake to March 2026. As stated in the presentation:

Gothic 1 Remake is listed immediately after a title scheduled for release on February 24, 2026. It’s worth noting that games with fixed dates typically launch on a Tuesday or Thursday. It is therefore unlikely that Gothic Remake would be released on the Thursday right after February 24 — the gap would be only two days.
On the other hand, the fact that Gothic Remake appears after the February 24 title doesn’t necessarily mean it will release later. However, it’s improbable that the game would launch close to Deus Ex Remastered, as both are action-oriented titles — even though Gothic is an RPG — and may appeal to a similar player base.
A January release also seems unlikely, as it’s already mid-November and the developers at Alkimia Interactive announced they would publish a new video showcasing the combat system before release, following the unsuccessful presentation at Gamescom.
Previous company reports have proven reliable — later statements from THQ Nordic either confirmed them or they turned out to be accurate over time. The release of Gothic Remake indeed did not happen before July, and it was additionally postponed to the first quarter of next year during the August Showcase 2025, which had already been implied in the May report.
However, one should not forget the unfortunate release date of ELEX 2. The game launched on March 1, 2022, and given the competition from Dying Light 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and especially Elden Ring, it was set up for disaster from the start. THQ Nordic may still surprise us again.
