Gothic 1: Reworked – Modification translated and added

Hi, the Reworked modification for Gothic 1 has just been released. You can find more information about this mod on its page here – https://www.myrtana.net/gothic-mod/reworked
Anyway, I translated the mod into Czech by inserting the original Gothic 1 translation into it, and all new content was translated through our script (ChatGPT 5). I’m providing the English version to players in the same way, but the new texts will be translated through Google Translate, so the quality will be lower. I’d like to apologize to the English-speaking community for that. AI translations cost some money, and I usually receive only minimal feedback or Patreon contributions from foreign players. Those contributions motivate me and help pay for various parts of this project, so my priority is to create high-quality Czech translations. On top of that, it all takes quite a lot of time.
However, there’s a small issue. Just like with the Extended Edition, some texts can’t be extracted from this mod in the usual way. And because the mod is new and updates are extremely frequent, we’ll wait until things settle down a bit and then finish translating the missing parts. If we had to do this complicated process after every update, we’d lose our minds… so this will have to do for now.

The untranslated parts are the notifications when you receive a quest, pick up items, gain experience, and the new skills shown in the character status — everything else is in Polish. If you have trouble translating individual words and aren’t sure what skill they refer to, just write in the Gothic 1 Chat on Discord and we’ll help. It looks something like this:

However, the dialogues, journal, and other things should be fine. If you find any issues, feel free to report them, but for now we have to leave it as it is — otherwise each update would be extremely complicated for me to handle.
This mod and the Czech translation are provided in the newest version. Here you also have a list of updates that have been released in the few days since the modification came out:

The Swamp Dragon will no longer react to the hero drawing a weapon.
Fixed the description of learning the circles of magic — it mistakenly showed ore chunks instead of the required Intelligence for Saturas, Baal Cadar, Y’Berion, and Xardas.
Fixed an issue with mana regeneration — sometimes it stopped working.
Drago will now teach 4th circle spells if the player owns them.
Fixed Intelligence scaling — spells above 300 INT now still scale.
The Dexterity bonus for stealing is now awarded after 20 successful thefts instead of 10.

If the player saves the game with an active strength potion, the effect will remain visible after loading.
Fixed the strength potion — it no longer kills when it shouldn’t.
Fixed the Thunder spell — the effect now disappears correctly.
On the first entrance to the Free Mine and performing the Ulumulu, Gorn now says both lines at once to trigger Chapter 5.
Fixed the flag for Jackal and his cronies in Chapter 4 — they no longer attack the player; Jackal speaks first and only then starts the lethal fight.
Fixed Scatti’s arena dialogue — it now requires completing the egg quest or having the egg on you.
NPCs who attack after dialogue no longer flee if they are twice as weak as the hero.
Fixed the healing scroll — it now actually heals.
Fixed a death glitch when being poisoned/bleeding — the hero no longer remains “floating” mid-action.
Fixed an issue where Stone had a wrong armor after upgrading it.
Introduced learning thresholds for circles of magic: 25/50/100/150/200/250 for each successive circle. Exception: the 6th circle can only be learned after returning from the Sleeper’s Temple with Uriziel.
Increased teacher training limits for all attributes so players can raise stats if they have the opportunity.
If the Guru doesn’t manage to teach the 5th circle before returning from the temple, it can be learned from Saturas.
Fixed the teleport from the Free Mine to the outer world — if the player has the Ulumulu and is in Chapter 4, the teleport cannot be used; you must exit normally for Gorn to trigger Chapter 5.
Fixed an issue with the fire lizard — after canceling a transformation it sometimes wouldn’t respond or collect items.

Fixed an issue from the previous patch — the game would crash when choosing a reward or buying armor.

Fixed a critical bug causing crashes on new game, loading, or world change — random; also improved loading speed. Old saves need to be re-saved after loading.
Skeleton mage AI — no longer casts infinite skeletons.

Fixed Jack’s dialogue in Quentin’s camp — no longer infinite.
Trolls on normal difficulty no longer throw stones.

The Golem Summon rune now requires a stone golem fragment instead of a heart.

Bartholo’s dialogue now adds the missing journal entry about the trade.
Physical and magical protection bonuses in the inventory are now highlighted in green.
Equipping staffs no longer forces unequipping the current one if the player doesn't meet requirements for a stronger one.
Fixed the staff scaling description in the quest log (new game).
Fixed Thorus’s 1000-chunk dialogue — no longer active after the start of Chapter 4.
Health and mana regeneration per tick reduced from 6/4/2/1 to 3/2/1 — now regenerates faster; minimum remains 1 point or 1% max HP/mana.

Fixed ore cost for health regeneration — now correctly takes 1000 chunks instead of 100.
Dusty is no longer immortal when escorting him to the Brotherhood camp, but he has more HP.
Magic Shield now correctly grants XP for kills/knockdowns.
Learning Sneak and Acrobatics now displays the required Dexterity; crafting ammo requires Bow 1.
