Gothic Reworked – Major Update to the Latest Version

After several updates, I’m once again transferring the Czech localization from an older version of Reworked to the newest one. Both the Czech and English versions are still temporary (a few things are in Polish), but the dialogues and quests are fine thanks to AI for Czech. For English, it’s currently just a Google translation.
There have been several updates, so here is the complete list. Right now I sometimes don’t have the time or motivation to update every mod immediately with each patch, so for these mods I wait for several updates and then do it all at once.

Version 1.0.6 - 14.01.2026
The Rusty Two-Handed Axe will now correctly subtract the % melee combat value for two-handed weapons instead of one-handed ones.
Fixed frying on the pan – since some foods now require fried meat, it will no longer be necessary to have raw meat when starting interaction with the pan.
Fixed the sound of dealt damage – it was occasionally bugging.
Noble Roast will now require fried poultry instead of raw.
zHackChest has been implemented into the game and adjusted for the mod:
* Key controls (can be changed in gothic.ini): “Y” – opening with strength. “U” – opening with dexterity. “I” – opening with magic.
* Opening with magic (requirements): Exactly the same as manual opening using a rune/scroll and consumes 5 mana from a scroll and 10 from a rune.
* Opening with dexterity (requirements): Lockpicking skill + the longer the lock combination, the more dexterity is required and more lockpicks may be consumed. Upon reaching 100 dexterity, we gain a passive skill that always reduces consumption by 1 lockpick, but at least 1 lockpick will always be used.
* Opening with strength (requirements): Requirements only apply to strength and endurance. Opening with strength has significantly higher strength requirements than opening with dexterity. Each chest opening consumes 100 endurance. In the future, a lock-breaking skill will likely be added.
Version 1.0.5.4 - 13.01.2026
Fixed the melee bonus that could be obtained from Brutus – it will now work for both two-handed and one-handed weapons.
The message about canceling the Fire Elemental will no longer appear when the player attempts to summon him.
Riordian will now correctly sleep in his bed (new game only).
Fixed sounds for level-ups, journal entries, and completed quests – they will now be timed correctly with the on-screen message.
Cavalorn will now have Scales and Lizard Tongues in his shop during chapters 1 and 2.
Fixed the bleeding effect – all weapons that deal slashing damage will now have a chance to cause bleeding.
Bleeding chance will now be calculated correctly – the main chance comes from % weapon combat, then the weapon chance is checked: Axes 50%, other slashing weapons 20%.
Increased damage caused by bleeding – in the previous patch, fire tick damage was also increased.
Fixed fire damage – previously the damage of a single tick was sometimes calculated incorrectly.
Fixed disappearing burning effect – sometimes after being hit by a spell, the enemy burned for only 2 seconds or not at all instead of 5 seconds. Now it will work correctly.
Fixed Gomez’s and Nyras’s stats – on “Torment” difficulty they were recalculated twice (new game only).
Fixed tick counting for the “Death Breath” spell.
Spears with blades now use slashing weapon sounds instead of blunt ones.
Version 1.0.5.3 - 09.01.2026
Fixed a bug where after a monster attack the player remained with 1 health point, but the hero still died and stayed standing in place until hit again. Now, if the hero has 1 health point left, he will not die.
Fixed attack sounds after the previous change.
Version 1.0.5.2 - 09.01.2026
Duration of the Strength Potion increased from 1 min. -> 3 min.
Fixed the bug with the arena bench – dialogue options did not appear in chapter 3.
Waiting for the next match on the arena bench now restores health points.
Tenant’s and Hunter’s Stew now require fried meat instead of raw.
For giving Grimes beer that is too strong, the player now receives some experience.
The thief ring bonus now counts towards the displayed theft points in the statistics menu.
The room with Kalom’s laboratory is now considered public – NPCs will notice thefts, etc. Looting Kalom’s chests will therefore be more difficult.
Fixed the bug from patch 1.0.5 that caused monsters to turn behind the player while attacking while running, making it impossible to dodge such attacks (e.g., by sidestepping).
NPCs living outside camps will no longer call guards during combat.
Fixed information about missing dexterity required to learn Sneaking and Acrobatics.
Fixed bug in the “Night Watch” quest – the player now receives 500 experience for completing the quest; previously they received nothing.
Fixed a bug that could cause the quest with Ur-Shak to remain incomplete or even softlock – after talking to Ur-Shak it will no longer be possible to go directly to the Free Mine. First you must speak with Xardas, then go to the Free Mine for Ulumulu.
Fixed the bug with the Army of Darkness after patch 1.0.5 – they will no longer attack each other.
The quest with Grime for the “Amulet of Magnates” has been reworked into a quest with the possibility of gaining additional experience.
Fixed weapon hit sound – previously the sound sometimes stopped playing and hits were not heard.
Version 1.0.5.1 - 08.01.2026
Duration of the Endurance Potion increased from 1 min. -> 3 min.
Healing potions now have a chance to cure poison and stop bleeding: Essence 20%, Extract 40%, Elixir 60%, Fullness 100%.
The Endurance Potion now has a 60% chance to remove exhaustion. The Endurance Potion still has 100% as before.
Emerald amulets and rings now provide more dexterity but no longer add strength. Topaz items no longer provide a combat bonus, but instead give a hybrid of strength + dexterity.
Fixed perception of summoned creatures – in active mode they will now attack found enemies without needing orders. After killing an enemy they will attack other targets if within range. In passive mode the summoned creature will not attack even if the player is attacked.
Fixed perception of companions (NPCs) – they will attack found enemies and help the player in combat without the player first having to deal or receive damage.
Fixed the bug with the ingot smelting stand and the wood-cutting stand – they no longer require the Resource Gathering skill. The smelting stand requires Blacksmithing level 1. The wood-cutting stand requires Archery level 1.
The player will be rewarded with experience for activating each teleport stone – the later the chapter, the more experience gained: 100/200/300/400/500/600.
Reading each new recipe/scheme/formula now grants 50 experience.
There is a small chance to find a gemstone while mining ore or iron ore.
Fixed the bug when crafting items – not choosing an amount and leaving the value at “0” caused the item to disappear from the list. Additionally, attempting to craft with amount “0” now shows a message that an amount must be chosen.
Staves were too strong. They will now deal crushing damage instead of magical – scaling remains unchanged, i.e., 75% intelligence + 25% strength.
When trying to interact with a crafting stand, a message about missing key items will now be displayed if required items are missing.
Buff timers (if enabled) now disappear during dialogues.
Fixed the spawning of the first Chromanin book – it could appear in the wrong place if the player read the purchased book from Cronos in a world other than the main one.
The same fix was applied to the Corristo book – reading it in another world gives nothing + information that books must be read in the outer world.
The Ice Arrow rune was removed from Reinhard’s house; instead crushed ore and tongs were added to Nefaria’s house. Crushed ore was added to the flooded hut instead of an empty rune stone (new game only).
Bars were added to the Water Mages’ library – the library will be accessible from chapter 4 (new game only).
Fixed the cancellation of the Arena quest with Scattie – it will now be canceled only in chapter 4 if the player does not complete the quest.
The Strange Box now has a description indicating possible interaction.
The healing sound was replaced with the sound from Gothic 2. The old sound still appears in a few places but has been muted.
The required character level for entering the guild was increased from 5 -> 7. Promotion from 10 -> 15.
Gor Na Vid (the guard who can help with the crawler nest) has been weakened.
The selected dialogue option now appears in green instead of white.
Version 1.0.5.1 - 08.01.2026
