Dark Mysteries – Updates
Translation Status (Czech)
It is still a temporary hybrid Czech translation, which currently combines:
the original Czech Gothic 1 translation
the Gcznet Dark Secrets translation
many new lines translated via AI
several latest lines translated via Google
some quest names and terms are still in Polish
Everything will be gradually corrected and polished — we are waiting for the version to stabilize and updates to slow down.
English version = original Gothic 1 English + temporary Google Translate additions.

added quest entry for “The Ancients” informing about Balaiareth
Melkor fixed – behaves correctly after loading saves
added new game confirmation screen
each special hero weapon can be forged only once
Argorn teaches weapon sharpening after meeting conditions
added ore amount display during skill learning
NPCs important to the story can no longer be executed when defeated
added sharpening for player-forged strength weapons
Alchemy Added
creation of 5 permanent elixirs
strength/dexterity/mana elixirs require unique ingredients
plants now have new descriptions
taught by the old alchemist + recipe purchases
Additional Additions
added guidance quest for Chapter 1 smugglers
new quest “Arena in the Old Camp” with reworked mechanics
Mana Regeneration:
Level I – taught by mages
Level II – gained with crystal enchanting
added stat growth progress indicators
corpses disappear only when empty
Mordrag trades only at the Tavern
transformations disabled (except beetle for quest use)
entrance to the Sleeper’s Temple only at correct story moment
limited steel/blade vendors to prevent money exploits
alternative way to obtain steel for Anghar
rewritten Uriziel fight to reduce bugs
further magic balancing

Uriziel now has 15,000 HP
adjusted Kolis Ring location
adjusted weapon length (2H slightly longer)
changed HP and combat stats for some characters
stronger 1st Circle magic & Fire Storm
slightly nerfed Fireball
changed apple bonus – 1 STR per 20 apples
tougher armors and enemies
updated armor stat requirements
continued balancing of the Red Baron’s Spirit
Ardriel sword (1H Uriziel variant) has no STR requirement
🐞 Bug Fixes
temple guards & ork hunters correctly return after fights
charge-based spells now no longer cast for 1 mana
fixed Wolf dialogues blocking armor crafting
fixed incorrect reward descriptions
guards no longer wrongly attack player in Chapter 5

fixed quest triggers requiring lizard queen kill & eggs
fixed NPC reactions and behavior glitches
