Gothic 2: Guilds - Update 15.03.2025 and 27.04.2025

Hello! We’ve got an update for the Guilds mod — and just like with the Renovation mod recently, I’m a bit behind on announcing it here. I originally didn’t plan to post these updates on the website until we had a proper Czech translation ready for our community. However, it's important to share update information regardless of whether the Czech or English versions are available yet — even if there's a short wait.
I’ll start working on the AI-based Czech translation for Guilds right after I finish Renovation. Once it’s done, all future Guilds versions will be updated more easily — just like we already do with New Balance and other supported mods.
As for the English localization I’ve been preparing for international players on this website — I’ll work on it during the same time as the Czech translation. So please be patient for now. Until then, you can still play the previous versions of Guilds in Czech or English (using Google Translate), or wait a bit longer and enjoy the new updates with proper localization.
I’ll keep you informed about everything here as usual.From what I know, the latest versions of Guilds are currently available in Polish, German, and the original Russian.

zSideAttackHitFix: Fixes animation bug where side attacks dealt no damage if the player lost target focus.
zBBoxSortFix: Fixes bbox coordinate sorting bug that caused missing music in some active zones.
🧭 New Region: The Ravine
Based on the Valley of Sunrise mod by Silderon, used with permission.
Accessible after returning from the Valley of Mines (after completing the quest "HR* | Summoners of the Undead").
Entry point located in Valdus.
Core questline (28 quests) originates from the unreleased German mod eXodus, translated by Rivolf.
Remaining content taken from Valley of Sunrise mod.
Future plans: Lore and dialogue proofreading to align with Guilds 1.6 canon.

New lines added to Meliton and Vatras.
Myxir moves to the Ravine after completing the quest "HR* | Summoners of the Undead" and opens a new quest: "HR* | Seeking Ancient Knowledge".
Myxir teaches Transmutation Lv. 3 after finishing "RAV | Souls of the Martyrs".
Adjusted Till’s dialogue to reflect quest "!HDf | Lazy Farmer" – he won’t release supplies until Branko is dealt with.
Fixed Uderus’ dialogue trigger for discovering a secret library.
⚔️ Gameplay & System Adjustments
Beliar’s Curse: Penalty for killing orcs and weak enemies reduced based on achievements.
Fixed player inventory overload caused by previous patch.
Fixed scripted bonus damage. – Thanks to N1kx.
Misc. scripting functions across multiple regions fixed. – Thanks to N1kx.
Player inventory now cleared on first entry to the Trial Island. – Thanks to Hedin.
🎲 QoL & Miscellaneous Fixes
Skip’s dice game win rate adjusted (varies by difficulty).
Added firearm ammo crafting to the graphical crafting system.
Quest "HRfo | Drunkard": Lee’s dialogue no longer requires guildlessness.
The light seeker's “Enhance Light” dialogue disappears once all upgrades are learned.
Hilda and Katja expand herb pouches for each batch of harvested/replanted vegetables (turnip & carrots).
Engor’s room (Castle, Valley of Mines): You can now discard found keys – excluded from light seeker detection.
Sharpening rusty axes now expands the two-handed weapon group in inventory.
Valdus, Aalia’s Cave: Activated bookshelf for brewing Bog Berry Tea (graphical and script crafting); berry price halved.
Cheese soup effect changed: +1 max Mana → +1 max Health.
Added 4 new books "Craftsman’s Guide", sold by merchants in Khorinis. (requires new game)
📚 Additional Content Fixes
Dark Archmage Robe: now gives +5 to fire, magic, and levitation (after fusion with Senyak’s Soul and 100 normal souls).
Safe Orc Elixir: permanently adds Strength or Dexterity on repeated use.
Hard mode: LP per level adjusted (more up to lvl 30, slightly less after). (requires new game)
Gurtz (innkeeper in Azghan): now accepts Fast Herring instead of quest beer.
Pasha's "How's it going?" dialogue only appears when she’s awake.
Basket loot system added – 20 baskets across 7 regions, loot sorted by value. (requires new game)
New thieving skill: Basket Inspection, taught by the Gardener after "HRgv | Simple Pleasures" + thief signal.
Falk now warns if not all skills are learned before going to the Trial Island. Also shown as on-screen text.
The secret passage between Khorinis and Valley of Mines must now be broken with a pickaxe from the inside. (requires new game)

Martin takes Fernando’s betrayal proof.
Vatras takes and reads Dexter’s order.
Babo takes and reads letters and drawings.
Garond takes and reads Sylvestro’s note.
Karras (if Ignaz is alive) takes Ortega’s note.
Gerlach takes and reads note from Grochak’s dungeon.
Constantino takes the herb list and herbs from the player.

Ratmen are now counted in the monster kill counter.

⚔️ Systems & Mechanics
Active calculation of maximum life gained per Learning Points (LP).
Changes to LP gains on Hard difficulty:
+1 bonus LP up to level 30.
Removed leap doubling every 4 levels.
Hard Mode:
New settings: simple/complex alchemy, fatigue/thirst/hunger, strong Beliar curse (optional).
Slower skill gain without teachers.
Dynamic monster stats and defenses: start like Normal, become full Hard after Raven’s death. (requires new game)
Added third activation point for Beliar’s Curse.
Architect Tablets level 2 and 3 now only give +1 to weapon mastery.
At Xardas: optional trader tax when switching chapters (displayed in the multi-page menu as “Bribes”).
Theft system rework on Hard: third theft based on player’s thievery skill, not a fixed value.
📜 Quest & Dialogue Fixes
Fixed conditions and bugs in quests for: Baltram, Rod, Randolph, Bodo, Fenia, Aiko, Grando, Pancho, Meliton, Senta, Myxir, Zuris, Kilian.
Fixed typos and phrasing in dialogues: Orlan, Radvyn, Gallus, Cougar, Bosper, Moran, Vatras, Emry, Dallin. – Thanks to N1kx.
Lares: new dialogue and a stop point at the Eastern Forest junction.
Rebalanced Skip's dice win chances based on difficulty level.
Corrected hidden stash count for Light Seeker in Hiddenval.
Log-chopping stamina reset only applies on Hard now.
Constantino will now reward 1x Elixir of Spirit instead of 2x Royal Sorrel for mage players in the “Magical Elixir” quest.
The incomplete quest "HRb | Swampweed for Idol Kadar" is now marked failed if you join a non-Brotherhood guild. Theft stats updated accordingly.
Grimes: demon death verification in the Abandoned Mine fixed. (Replay kill if done before patch)
Galahad: added topic “About rare books...”, each sold book now logged in the journal. (Replay dialogue to activate)
Light Seeker chest item transfer at Azgan pier corrected. – Thanks to Hedin.
“Six Jumpers” mini-game: fixed 3-sheep jump right event.
Wolf hide bowstring crafting: +1 Dexterity now awarded after crafting 10, not 5.
Reworked EXP gain from summons and transforms in no-teacher mode – now scales based on Xardas’ settings.
Orc spawn after Kh’oshkar’s death moved from Chapter 3 to 4.
💀 Souls, Magic & Language
Mora Ulartu soul enchantment:
Cannot target: golems, crabfish, meatbugs, reptiles, rabbits, lights, summoned creatures, ghosts, or divine entities.
New cast messages: “No soul,” “Soul too weak,” “Soul already belongs to a god.”
Mora Ulartu becomes a general-use amulet (not just for necromancers) after gathering 400 souls.
Cast range increased by 200 units; max range reached at 400 souls.
Life Tablet I now given twice by Erik in Hiddenval.
Meliton now gives Life Tablet II for completing “HR* | Summoners of the Undead”.
Kuarhodron summoning tablet now requires the warrior language instead of the priest language.
Studying tomes in the Ravine requires the priest language; grants +1 max life if weapon skill is above 96%.
Myxir in the Ravine:
Teaches the priest language.
Quest “RAV | Souls of the Martyrs” now requires the language to start.
After learning, a new dialogue opens: “Now I know the priest language…”
📦 Misc & Crafting
Fixed visual crafting of hammer shafts for Jory’s warhammers.
Composite bow: damage increased to 65.
Saltpeter model (for Dioskor’s quest) added to mod resources.
Meat stew bonus in fast food now properly increases servings.
