Gothic 2 New Balance - Planned updates and mod work

Hi everyone, there hasn't been any news and updates about New Balance for a long time, but the work on the mod is definitely not over and we are currently working on a new update, especially a new skill class, new difficulty and many other changes.


Here info directly from the authors


After the release of the summer update (arena) we found many visual and technical flaws (installer). Therefore, we have decided to release an update with visual changes to the locations in the future. The plan was to release the "Scout" class (skill guild) together with the arena, but then there was no time and no desire.

In the future (towards the end of the year, in December?) we will release an update with a new guild "Scout".


Basic information:


- Gilda is basic, with her own storyline.

- There will be dubbing (if Istar agrees).

- Scout = Dexterity (i.e. a class for Dexterity)

- If this works out, there will be unique mechanics that other guilds and classes don't have.

- Release date: December+ (no exact date yet)

- Playing as a scout will require a new game (other guilds do not).


New difficulty "Wrath of Beliar"


- In December (exact date yet to be announced), a new difficulty called "Wrath of Beliar" will be released together with the update se - Scouts.

- The difficulty will be activated via a separate plugin (so that players don't accidentally set it in the menu).

- It will be compatible with any difficulty: Gothic, Nightmare and Complex Nightmare.

- There will be about 20+ changes and restrictions on this difficulty.

Here is the changelog (not complete) of the new upcoming plugin that will add the new difficulty "Wrath of Beliar".

It will be compatible with any difficulty (Gothic / Nightmare).

The difficulty is created at the request of hardcore players, so it will come out as a separate plugin.


List of changes (not yet complete):


- Endurance consumption increased by 75%

- Probability of hero poisoning increased 3 times.

- Weapon enhancements (extend mod) added to NB do not work in this mode (~15% weapon enhancement).

- Damage coefficient from combo attacks is reduced by 2.5 times.

- Reduced ANY additional net damage by 70%. Exceptions: ghosts, stone guardians (hammer).

- Reduced mana regeneration (from skill) by 2 times.

- Some monsters can now heal themselves. The stronger the enemy, the stronger the skill.

- When you meet an enemy, with some probability Beliar will give him strength and he will become stronger. It is impossible to know in advance whether a particular monster will be strengthened or not, so there will be no point in recharging it It does not work on bosses.

- Cannot draw health for VB in this mode. This also applies to elixirs of life. They cannot be created. Only the ones for completing quests will remain. This also applies to SNC mode (both of them).

- The price for receiving goods from Halvor has been reduced.

- The Fairy on this difficulty will not search for rare plants/permanent potions/tables

- Some chests will be closed at the beginning of the game

- The damage of summoned monsters has been reduced by 60%

- Hero's magic damage reduced by 30%

- Gifts of Beliar and prayers to him are only available to "dark" guilds.
